The policy: This privacy policy is for this website; www.vessel-ceramics.co.uk and is served by Vessel Ceramics. It governs the privacy of the users who choose to access it. It explains how we comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the DPA (Data Protection Act) and the PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations).

This policy describes how and why Vessel Ceramics uses your personal information, how we protect your privacy and your choices regarding this information.

Please read the policy carefully as by providing your personal data to Vessel Ceramics, you will be deemed to have consented to the processing of such data.

We and this website comply with the DPA (Data Protection Act, 1998) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation, 2018). We will update this policy accordingly should the UK exit from the European Union.

This policy is effective from 6th April 2019.

In this policy, ‘we’ means Vessel Ceramics.

We collect information in a number of ways. You may give us your information in order to:

We will collect personal details appropriate to the service you choose to sign up to or the product you buy. We collect, store and use the following kinds of personal information:

  • to target communications and messages to you and to identify similar groups of prospective customers

  • to track user visits to our website and record navigation across our website and in addition to track whether our emails are opened and read

  • To use IP addresses to identify your approximate location, to block disruptive use, to record website traffic or to personalise the way our information is presented to you

Customers

If you have purchased products from www.vessel-ceramics.co.uk, we will hold your data for a maximum of 6 years and may from time to time email you with information that I feel you will be interested in e.g. new products, blogs, workshops or events. We will only contact you if we believe you have a legitimate interest in our work and it's relevant to my business. 

Events

When you have registered to attend a Vessel Ceramics organised event we will, where relevant, send you information about the event including logistics, timings, accessibility, advanced information about the content of the event and follow up information, including post event surveys.

When a third party has provided your information as part of an event such as exhibitions, we will use that information only to organise the event for which it has been provided and will not store the data longer than required.

Contact & communication with us

People contacting us through this website do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use.

Where we have clearly stated and made you aware of the fact, and where you have given your express permission, we may use your details to send you products/services information through a mailing list system. This is done in accordance with the regulations named in 'The policy' above.

Sending marketing communications

Our e-newsletters include information about our latest products, exhibitions, events and promotions. We may also include highlights from activities delivered by external craft organisations as well as information and offers from the partner organisations that exhibit or sell our work.

We operate an opt-in only communication policy. This means that, except as set out below, we will only send marketing communications to those that have explicitly stated that they are happy for us to do so.

We will collect information on open rates and click throughs to assess and improve our newsletters and any other information you provide whilst subscribing through this form.

We may use information you have given us directly, for example the record of your previous purchases and/or relationship with us, your location and demographics, as well as the type of activity you have been involved with, to tailor our communications with you about future activities.

Subscriber personal details are collected, processed, managed and stored by Mailchimp in accordance with the regulations named in 'The policy' above. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time through an automated online service by clicking in the 'unsubscribe' link in the footer of my marketing emails or by emailing via the contact page on www.vessel-ceramics.co.uk.  The type and content of marketing messages subscribers receive, and if it may contain third party content, is clearly outlined at the point of subscription.

Email marketing messages may contain tracking beacons / tracked clickable links or similar server technologies in order to track subscriber activity within email marketing messages. Where used, such marketing messages may record a range of subscriber data relating to engagement, geographic, demographics and already stored subscriber data.

Website visitor tracking

This website uses tracking software to monitor its visitors to better understand how they use it. The software will save a cookie to your computers hard drive in order to track and monitor your engagement and usage of the website, but will not store, save or collect personal information.

Social media

Whilst we may have official profiles on social media platforms, users are advised to verify authenticity of such profiles before engaging with, or sharing information with such profiles. We will never ask for user passwords or personal details on social media platforms. Users are also advised to conduct themselves appropriately when engaging with us on social media.

There may be instances where our website features social sharing buttons, which help share web content directly from web pages to the respective social media platforms. We will either store your data on our own servers or in the Cloud.

We ensure that there are appropriate technical and organisational controls (including physical, electronic and managerial measures) in place to protect your personal details; For example our online forms are always encrypted and our network is protected and routinely monitored.

How long we keep your information for

We keep your personal information for as long as required to deliver the service we are providing or for archival purposes and in accordance with legal requirements and tax and accounting rules. If you have not engaged with us for a period of three years and we do not need to keep your personal data for archival, legal or business reasons, we will delete or suppress your personal information. Where your information is no longer required, we will dispose of it securely.

If you have told us that you do not want to hear from us at all or by a particular channel, we will hold the minimum amount of your personal data on a suppression list to ensure we comply with your request.
